Sense Of Humor Gets In The Way
Leftoids across the world, in unison, as directed by the chief hive-administrator experts, scientists, and bureaucrats, decided to uninstall their sense of humor in favor of an app that triggers self-righteous anger when other humans say or do something hilarious.
For example, when a black woman tells the sitting President of the United States, Joseph "You Ain't Black" Biden, "You ain't my pimp, [n-word]." You would rightly expect peels of laughter and celebration from normal humans - regardless of party affiliation. I mean, it's not like political conformity and obedience is now a concrete and substantive fixture of their personality... right?
Instead, modern-day progressive Democrats merely shake their heads in derision, intoning the wisdom offered by the church of secular progressivism...
"Why won't people listen to the science?"
"Everyone should wear a mask and get the vaccine. You're just being selfish otherwise."
"We could save lives and end the pandemic, if only people listened to High Priest Fauci and did what they're told."
"I mean, yeah, I suppose on the surface it's funny, the President was just called a pimp and the n-word by a black woman because Biden is not a 'people person' or 'empathetic' or even 'the least bit competent', but you know this is somehow going to divert attention away from the single greatest horror and tragedy in human history - January 6th. We can't let that happen. Of course, the dozens of black people shot to death during the mostly peaceful protests of 2020 was bad, too."
After only 437 days to slow the spread, there's no sign of the potato-in-chief getting covid-19 under control. But once the Earth gets down to 0.00% covid (if only those anti-mandate, anti-lockdown bastard people would get sick and die already!), will the leftoids opt to reinstall their sense of humor again? Probably not. They don't need to laugh when feeling scorn, betrayal, and vengeance at their fellow Americans yields more productive emotions.
Similarly, roleplaying game settings, systems, and scenarios don't need a sense of humor, either. I talked to a number of leftoids online and was able to get a couple of quotes...
"We should treat our fantasy worlds like the dry, tedious slog through a Hellbeast's bowels we have to face every day in our real lives... because nothing is better nor more rewarding in this universe than pleasing the woke hive-mind!"
"Does not compute. Error. Error. Danger, Will Robinson!"
Apparently, the value of a sense of humor is highly overrated. Just like Biden, am I right?
Nothing but scowls of disapproval in reply.
Follow-up: some leftoids are talking about deleting shame from their operating systems. Now that could be a real game-changer!
